Recovery Healthcare Corporation has developed a treatment program that is multiphase in its approach and addresses the clients needs. The Intensive Outpatient Program utilizes three phases.

In first Phase the client attends day or night sessions 4 times a week, entering a stabilization period where the goal is a balanced life. If unemployed, they must seek employment. The first 8 to 10 weeks of the program include the following:

Education about their disease of addiction
•Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
•Intervention of the client’s denial
•Adoption of new coping skills to deal with everyday problems
•Dealing with feelings such as anger
•Relapse prevention
•Education about the risks and dangers of HIV, AIDS and STD
•Learning new nutritional habits
•Introduction to 12-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon
•Sponsorship in 12-step programs
•Locating a home group
Family involvement
•Written task work including written first, second, and third steps
•Client’s life and drug history
•Anger Management
•Life Skills Training
•Corrective Thinking
•Referral to outside agencies if other needs need to be met.

Before moving to the next phase the client must have stayed clean and sober, completed all task work, attended the required 12-step meetings, have a home group and a sponsor, be invested in their recovery, and have a stable work history.

In Second Phase of the program the client attends day or night sessions three times a week for approximately 8 to 10 weeks. During this phase the client begins to embrace a sober lifestyle.

During this phase the client:

is given the tools that fortify a sober life; begins to trust the process of group therapy; begins to confront life problems in group session; and completes the 4th and 5th steps of Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous

The client begins looking at life on life’s terms and gets to observe other member’s struggles and successes. At this point acting your way into right thinking becomes an axiom to live by.

In order to move to the Final Phase the client must have completed a 4th and 5th step, embraced sobriety and the twelve-step way of life, have a stable job, and be compliant with probation.

The Third Phase meets in day or night sessions once a week for up to 52 weeks. During this phase the successful client is living sober and enjoying it, having been given tools to live by. RHC staff is dedicated to the well-being of the client and during group sessions clients are guided through a sober life by means of frank and open group feedback.

In addition, clients and families are educated and counseled once a week. In this setting families get a chance to learn about their addict’s life. Moreover, they are introduced to the family dynamics of addiction.

Also once a week an AA meeting is brought to our campus for all clients.

During the many years RHC has been dealing with addiction, we have witnessed many family relationships heal.
